What truly sets Cabin Fever apart is its incredible staff. It's the kind of place that makes you feel instantly at ease, as if you've stumbled upon a hidden treasure in the wilderness. The wood-paneled walls, flickering fireplace, and rustic décor create a comforting ambiance that perfectly complements the hearty cuisine. Some of the reviews speak to the restaurant as being hard to get into and a bit crowded though we didn't find this to be the case on a Sunday evening during peak Fall leaf viewing season. Enjoyed speaking to the wife of the owner and learning a bit about the restaurant. My wife and two boys all had desert - fresh baked pie with ice cream- something they are known for. The fish bites were lightly coated and had a good taste to them. Chile had a bit too many beans for me, but would still order it again as it was hearty and got the meal off to a good start. My wife had the lobster bisque and heated lobster role and I enjoyed a cup of the chili and the haddock fish bites in a basket. We found the food to be quite enjoyable and reasonably priced. We stopped here on our last evening on a three night stay in and around the White Mountain region and the dining experience was a great way to complete our mini Fall vacation. I wish they would open another restaurant closer to where I lived. The chef here has literally figured out the secret sauce. So, for lobster bisque, pizza and hamburgers, this is as good as it gets. This has never happened to me before with a hamburger but this is one of the best burgers I had ever had. It was so good that I absolutely did not want to put any condiments on it because it would ruin the flavor. The hamburger was the most succulent burger I ever had. We enjoyed the food so much that we then ordered a hamburger. Nonetheless, for thinner crust pizza, Cabin Fever is boss, boss, boss. I restrict my judgment to the east coast because growing up near Chicago, I'm biased towards Chicago-style pizza. The other two are Corner Grille in Worcester and Krueger Flatbread Pizza in Haverhill. This is one of the top 3 pizza places I've eaten at on the east coast (and I've lived in many cities on the east coast). Crust was nice and bubbly and toppings were soooooo good. We had a chicken barbeque pizza that was phenomenal. Well, Cabin Fever gives my Houston favorites a run for their money and it is hands down the best bisque I've had on the east coast. I used to eat a lot of crawfish bisque in Houston and could never find anything that quite compared on the lobster side. It is a nice little cozy cabin-style restaurant nestled in Barlett, NH that served the best Lobster Bisque I've ever had.

And the truth is that the vast majority of young people in the West have no interest in classical music whatsoever. While I cannot subscribe to the doom-laden scenario of Norman Lebrecht’s book When the Music Stops, the truth has to be faced by everybody involved with Western classical music before it is too late. It is in stark contrast to music-making in the Far East where there are still huge numbers of children learning instruments, healthy classical CD sales, a media that takes real interest in classical music and – above all – concert halls that are packed with young people as a direct result of that media interest. This is the reality of classical music in the West today. What classical or choral music reminds you of the Minnesota State Fair? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.(delivered to the World Economic Forum, Davos, Switzerland, Monday 3rd February 1998)ĭeclining audiences, government cuts, disastrous CD sales, sponsors pulling out of the arts, fewer children learning instruments, and a total lack of interest from the general media – unless semi-naked bimbo violinists or something like the David Helfgott circus are involved. Sometime later we were at the Fair strolling through the Midway and Richard Strauss' "Also Sprach Zarathustra" was blaring from inside one of the rides - my son instantly identified it and even got the German right! Should I disclose it was the disco version by Deodato? No matter my son still prefers the orchestra. When my son was very young, for reasons I now can't recall, I let him watch Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. I no longer can go to the Fair without this song running through my mind. It's so sweet, fulfilling, and within a few minutes I started singing (quietly) along. It was the first time I heard Ysaye Barnwell's "Wanting Memories," which has become a kind of Cantus signature tune. The State Fair audience loved the story, and the happy ending: Oue and Bernstein nevertheless became good friends. Oue, with his back to the door, didn't realize who this noisy newcomer was, disrupting the class, but was sufficiently irritated to yell "Shut Up!!" Little did Oue know that he was unwittingly talking to his idol! Bernstein came through the door talking loudly. In between bites, he treated the crowd to the story of his first meeting with Leonard Bernstein: Oue was playing piano for a conducting class at Tanglewood. The show was opened by Norfolk’s Anthony Rosano and the Conqueroos, a large-scale showcase for the sort of blues rock performances that have made them one of the most popular bands in Hampton Roads. It deserves to stand as a bookend to 1976’s “Live Bullet,” which (with all due respect to Peter Frampton) stands up as the best live album of the ’70s. Hopefully this final tour will eventually be put together in a live recording or a video. The band played a tight 90-minute set and then returned for two encores, ending as you knew it would - with a reflective “Night Moves” and a jubilant “Rock and Roll Never Forgets.” No number rocked harder than “Her Strut,” a cult favorite from his 1980 hit album “Against the Wind.” The song celebrates a smart, strong-willed woman, but also featured a sly double entendre - a pause in the vocals that makes “they do respect her, but …” sound like “they do respect her butt.” (The song was inspired by Jane Fonda’s political activism and her worked-out derriere.) In concert these days, Seger plays it straight - the pauses goes where it is grammatically correct, and on one chorus he even replaced the “but” with a very pointed “ however.“ The set list was nicely paced, and even when he announced that he was pulling out songs that the band hadn’t played in a quarter-century they still turned out to be hits like “You’ll Accomp’ny Me” and “Shame on the Moon.” By the time he and the band kicked into a blistering version of “The Fire Down Below,” the near-sellout crowd of close to 20,000 had become part of the show, singing along on the chorus. McNelley in particular was given the opportunity to shine, staying close to the guitar leads made famous by Drew Abbott but also making them his own.ĭuring the second song, “Still the Same,” Seger looked as happy as a kid when he pointed out the full moon hanging over the lawn crowd. That lineup is augmented by top-notch session players with a country backgrounds (guitarist Rob McNelley, drummer Greg Morrow, Jim “Moose” Brown on guitar and keys) whose presence emphasizes the diverse influences that work their way into Seger’s R&B-based sound. Longtime members include Chris Campbell (bass), Craig Frost (keyboards), Mark Chatfield (guitar) and the implacably cool sax man Alto Reed, who unlike the others seems not to have aged since the Silver Bullet Band’s heyday. 1 hit from 1987 - a song that had been the rollicking theme from a pointless Eddie Murphy sequel, but which still brings a crowd to its feet when delivered by Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, featuring a full horn section and three backing vocalists. Little Nightmares 2 creates an immersive gameplay experience by building on the original game and refining the edges. As the scene progresses, Mono spends what appears to be decades within the room, eventually turning into the Thin Man himself. The end cutscene shows Mono sitting in an old wooden chair, trapped in the same room from which he had released the Thin Man in the first place. However, just as the heroes seem to be close to safety, Six betrays Mono, dropping him into a pit and leaving him for dead. After defeating her and releasing from her curse, Mono and Six attempt to escape from the fleshy eye-balled entity that exists within the Thin Man’s realm. He then enters the building and discovers his next foe is a twisted and oversized version of Six. Once Mono reaches the exterior of the Signal Tower, he defeats the Thin Man in an epic encounter. Left all alone, Mono traverses through portal-like TV sets to escape entranced Viewers - residents of the Pale City who seem to be mind-controlled by the Signal Tower. After several iterations of a recurring vision of a crooked corridor, Mono unwittingly releases the Thin Man from captivity, who promptly kidnaps Six. The pair then travel to the heart of the Pale City. After resisting capture by an army of mannequins, the two heroes lure the Doctor into an incinerator, killing him. Mono and Six leave the School, only to encounter the Hospital, where the bloated spider-like Doctor roams free. Mono is forced to rescue her, and the pair reunite to escape from the terrifying Teacher with a snake-like neck. Here, both Mono and Six encounter a flurry of enemies as they progress through their journey to reach the Signal Tower.Īfter finding their way into a battered School, Six is kidnapped by a group of rabid porcelain Bullies that attack on sight. The vastness of the Pale City is a rude awakening for players who had grown used to the Maw, the underwater location from the previous game. Once you free your new companion, you defeat the Hunter and sail across the river on a broken door Titanic-style to reach the Pale City, the setting of the rest of the game. You encounter gruesome bear traps scattered across the overgrown environment before coming across a cabin, where you encounter Six. The game begins with Mono, the main protagonist, awakening in the middle of a forest next to what appears to be an old-fashioned television set.
